Julia Peddie is an artist-illustrator & graphic designer living on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. Julia is primarily a 2D artist and works with mixed media, printmaking, oils and acrylics. Julia has designed award-winning publications for the National Gallery of Victoria (Children's Book Education category), and has had an extensive career in publishing working for Vogue Australia & National Magazines, London. Julia has continued to produce artworks on occasion during her working life since her graduation from City Art Institute, formerly Alexander Mackey, in Sydney in 1989.
In 2006 Julia began The Healesville Labyrinth Project during her art placement at The Rivendell Community support centre for mental health and well-being, while studying Transpersonal Art Therapy at the Phoenix Institute for Transpersonal studies. In 2009 the Black Saturday Bushfires transformed Victorian communities and lives. The Labyrinth project was completed after years of fundraising and became a Memorial project. As did the 1000 Hands project that Julia and her team of artists in Marysville from The Triangle Arts Group (TAG) led to help the community heal from the tragedy.
Julia now lives on an abundant property with her husband, creating inspiring works inspired by nature, in an attempt to capture her magical spirit. Her most recent publication 'My Inner Light' is due to be released in August 2024.
