My Inner Light is a captivating story and teaching tool for children and all of us to value and nurture the inner light that shines within us all.

Lucy Murrell is a teacher and author in Brisbane, Australia. She writes books for children that support their wellbeing and that of their educators.

Artist-illustrator Julia Peddie brings the story to life with her unique style in this empowering  creative collaboration.

​'My Inner Light' by author-educator Lucy Murrell is my latest illustration and design project, 2024.

This passion project began while Lucy and I were enrolled in a coaching program and she shared this story, written to empower children. The colourful illustrations emerged over six months during a difficult time in my life, and I found her words profoundly helpful and comforting for my own inner child.

The Lighthouse image was the last drawing I did, as it perfectly illustrated the meaning of the prose . It is also the name of our small regenerative organic farm. Lucy's story is very aligned with our philosophy at The Lighthouse, and it compliments our work in community beautifully.
