About meI am an artist-illustrator & designer-publisher living in Woombye, on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. I also run art therapy groups using Deep Ecology processes.
I am a multi-disciplined semi-abstract visual artist, inspired mostly by the sentience of nature. I have considered myself an artist since the age of 6 when I won the school art prize, and have worked in the arts throughout my colourful career. Following my BA (Visual Arts) I obtained a graphic design Diploma and worked in corporate graphic design and magazine publishing. Looking for a more meaningful life I later studied Transpersonal Art Therapy and in 2006 I began The Healesville Labyrinth Project during my art placement at The Rivendell Community mental health support service. The 2009 Black Saturday Bushfires transformed Victorian communities and lives. The Labyrinth project was completed after years of fundraising and became a bushfire Memorial project (opened in 2011), as did the 1000 Hands project (2009-12) that I created with a team of artists in Marysville from The Triangle Arts Group (TAG) to help the community heal from the tragedy. I now live on an abundant permaculture property with my husband Jim Hodgetts, creating artwork inspired by nature, in an attempt to capture her magical spirit.
